This morning what is on my mind is FORGIVENESS. In Matthew 18:21&22 Peter comes to his Master and ask Jesus one question… “ Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”
The bible brings out that fact that we are to forgive and how that word so easily comes off of our lips but I notice as I watch other who tell me that they are in the…
but yet they don’t show any signs of forgiveness towards others that have “in their mind” done them wrong.
I know without doubt that in my ministry I have done some things wrong and I have hurt others and for this I am truly sorry. Not sorry for standing for and on the Word but sorry for the hurt I might have inflicted on others by my careless words or action, but many have done me wrong as well and I will tell you the truth, if I saw them on the street I would hug them because at the top of my list these days is forgiveness.
Life is too short and eternity to long to not forgive.
I’m no good at blogging or writing. Never have been and never will be, but that does not negate for us the Christians that forgiveness should be at the top of our list. If it isn’t it should be after all Christ forgave us. I see so many whose actions do not line up with their words. They say they forgive but their actions are just the opposite. I’m not accusing or blaming, just describing what I see and sometimes if I am not careful see in me.
In 2 Corinthians 2: 5-11 Paul cries out to those who would read this letter to forgive, and wrote this in Vs. 10&11; To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Satan would love to get a foothold in my life and if I am not careful he will, but I want to live Christ, to do this I must follow Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
FORGIVENESS… Easy to say but hard to do because within each one of us is the flesh that tells us to…
get even or
to stay away
but the Bible tells us to forgive.
I knew a gentleman and his wife some years ago that did their best to live by Ephesians 4:32 and had a ministry named after the first letters of the first part of that verse. BeYeKindOneToAnother or BYKOTA. What a great principle. Leroy and Susie are now enjoying that forgiveness in the presence of the Lord. What happened to their music ministry I don’t know. I assume it went away with them. How sad because BYKOTA for the Christian should be an everyday experience.
Let us Christians live like Christ lived… “FATHER FORGIVE THEM” and let us learn to BYKOTA!
