As I sit here in my thoughts about what has been swirling in the political arena over the last couple of days, I think I will put my 2 cent’s in.
Mr. Trump, you did wrong but I must admit, so have I!
I was a vile human being before grace intervened. The God of heaven described me as deceitful and wicked because my heart was that way, (The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:19). Yep, that’s who I was until Grace intervened.
I love the way it is described in Ephesians 2:1-7… “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”
There it is… GRACE! We walked in our sin’s until GRACE intervened and then we began to walk differently but if we’re not careful we get back into the world and begin to act the same old way we were because that’s who we are, but it’s not who we are to become.
I know that some have a hard time extending grace and it maybe that you’re not close enough to the throne to be able to see the grace that has been extended to you. You have gotten out into the world again and taken on their attributes and gotten your eyes off of the throne.
We have all done it… Said things in our past that have come back to haunt us, but if I read the Bible correctly it tells us to forgive, to extend GRACE, so Mr. Trump, Forgiveness extended and apology excepted, on my part. The rest of the world may condemn you but I do not.
I watched my congressman say some pretty nasty things about MR. Trump and Mr Trump said some pretty nasty things to him as they made a run for POTUS. The attacks were vicious and when the air cleared, my congressman who claims to be a Christian could not find it in his heart to forgive and he was no better than anybody else. I really thought he was. SAD!
Forgiveness is the heart of Christianity because it is the heart of Jesus Christ and God the Father.
Honestly it is my hope that Mr. Trump will come to know the one who extends Grace to all and that Mr. Trump will accept the Grace and forgiveness when it is extended to him by the only one who does give it freely unto all who call upon Him for life everlasting… His name if you don’t know it is JESUS CHRIST!
Now I want you to understand that I am not endorsing Mr. Trump, or any other political candidate, and this really is not a political post. This post is about GRACE and FORGIVENESS more than anything else. The problem with America is that we don’t extend our hand of FORGIVENESS or GRACE any more but our condemnation and judgment.
This morning I think I will extend GRACE and FORGIVENESS and not CONDEMNATION or JUDGMENT, not because I am better than anybody else, I am just simply trying to follow the BIBLE!
Oh, and by the way, I would like to have my America back!
